Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a day I had doubts I would ever get to celebrate because I was a mother, that I would only celebrate my mother.  From the time I was a little girl, all I ever wanted to be was a mommy.  I loved playing with baby dolls, I would help out in the church nursery whenever I could, as a teenager I did alot of babysitting and was very excited when I became an aunt at 15, for several years I got at least one new niece or nephew every year.

I met Josh and we decided after we got married that if I got pregnant right away that was fine with us...it didn't happen.  We waited 2.5 long years (well worth it) and had to go to a fertility clinic to finally get pregnant, it was a several month process of tests, a surgery and 2 rounds of IUI - but we finally we found out on Sept 12, 2011 that I was pregnant...oh my word we were excited!  The little girl that made me a mommy was born on May 26, 2012.  This time last year I was one week from my due date and ready for her to come, but she waited another 2 weeks.

My first Mother's Day was very nice and simple...every year we take my mom to Bob Evan's for breakfast with my brother Brendan's family.  Afterwards we came home and relaxed, Lilah was supposed to take a nap but wouldn't, so after lunch we went out shopping and got some new clothes and some things for our house.  We had Five Guys for dinner, I was happy with that because I didn't have to cook it :).

Didn't start out so happy this morning

Happy again a few minutes later

Purple Fever

We are pretty excited in our house about the Raven's being in the AFC championship.  All of us wore our Raven's jersey's to church and it was a sea of purple today at the service.  When church was over we went to get Lilah from the nursery and there were quite a few babies wearing Raven's jerseys.  Until Lilah decides which team she wants to cheer for we will be putting her in Raven's stuff (and Yankees stuff too)

So we did a little photo shoot today.  Lilah's mom-mom added the skirt to her Flacco jersey onesie.

"I know I'm cute"

"What are you doing back there mom?"

Lilah got to see a little of the game before she had to go to bed...

Our First Vacation

Earlier this month we took our first family vacation with Lilah, we went to South Carolina to see Aunt Stacie, Uncle Toby, Roman and Gianna.   We went to celebrate Gianna's 1st birthday.  Lilah did pretty good in the car, on the drive down we broke up the trip in to two days; on the way home we did it all in one day - but made lots of stops to give her a break from the car seat.

It was so much fun to see the girls together, looking forward to seeing them grow up and interact more and more in the years to come

Oh My!
Aren't they so cute together?

"Really guys, another picture of us?"

Josh painted Toby's golf cart while we were there, he didn't an awesome job-but we had to get a picture of Toby working on the cart since Josh did a majority of the work with CJ's help.

Trick or Treat

Since our area wasn't sure what was going to happen with Hurricane Sandy, a lot of the neighborhoods did trick or treating on Saturday evening.  So we decided to join my brother Ed's family and take Lilah for her first time trick or treating.  We found a lot of very cute possible costumes for Lilah......a monkey, a lady bug, a ketchup packet, an owl, a tootsie roll and Josh's favorite a whoopie cushion. So we decided that since April showers brought us our May flower, Lilah should be a flower.

Busy Weekend

This past Saturday we had a yard sale. we have lived in this house 2.5 years and we have had 5 yard sales!  Boy, do we love to get rid of stuff.  We sold our dining room table that Josh made after we got engaged and Josh's first stacked toolbox he bought himself (he got a bigger one)...I was emotional about the table and he was emotional about the toolbox.

Three weeks ago my cousin Rachel started a new job in Baltimore, she stayed with my mom until she found a place of her own.  She moved into her new place this past weekend and her parents, my Uncle John & Aunt Patti came down with more of her stuff.  They hadn't met Lilah yet so we went out to dinner with them and Grandma on Saturday evening.

Happy Girl!

Lilah loves Rachel!
Looking forward to spending more time with her since she lives near us

On Sunday we went out to buy our new dining room table!  We got a pub table so that we could make room for Lilah's high chair.
