First Christmas Eve

My side of the family exchanges gifts on Christmas Eve. Growing up dad and mom would take all of us out for dinner after Christmas Eve service, but as the nieces and nephews started coming along it wasn't practical to go out to dinner at 8 o'clock at night.  So we started having dinner at home before church....more kids came along - dad and mom decided that we should also exchange gifts on Christmas Eve so that my brother's families didn't have to go to a bunch of different houses on Christmas Day.  It has worked out really well.  The kids exchange gifts with each other (they pick names on Thanksgiving) and the adults do White Elephant.

Ready for everyone to show up...

That's alot of people in our living room

Seven Months Old

People kept telling me before Lilah was born that she was going to grow up fast and time is going to fly by - Oh My it sure has!   She gets more fun everyday.

She now has two teeth
She rolled over for the first time
She is slowly becoming a good eater, we had rough start with solid foods.
She has the best laugh
She "talks" all the time and will occasionally say "Dada".
She recently started playing by herself without having to have someone in the room
She has a favorite blanket
She takes wonderful naps and goes to sleep so easily most nights
She has always been overwhelmed when we are at a party with lots of people, but just recently started doing a lot better...Thank goodness because there are big families on both sides

I don't think it will be long before she is up on all fours and we will have to babyproof the house. I love watching her grow and change everyday, there is just nothing like and we are so blessed by God that we have her as our little girl.

Visiting Santa and Christmas at GG's

Yesterday was a very busy, but fun day.  We met some friends at Bass Pro Shop who have a little boy 5 weeks younger than Lilah to go see Santa together.  We got there early so the line wasn't too bad and moved pretty quickly.

A family pic, but Lilah was wearing down....

Next we were off to GG's house to celebrate Christmas....she has the family over the week before, it stretches out the all the fun of Christmas.

Playing with Uncle Jay & CJ

GG wrapped up a piece of wood for Lilah, we weren't too sure what it was when we opened it...

What is this?
Then GG pulled out a big gift bag with more wood pieces and she put it together..it was rocking chair that Uncle Charlie made!

Ariah helping Lilah open up her gift from Aunt Joyce

We were trying to get the girls to smile for the camera

CJ got screwdrivers from GG
CJ gave Josh his gift and Josh didn't realize it wasn't his turn yet (we open gifts youngest to oldest) and started to open up his too soon

So he put his gift back into the wrapping paper til it was his official turn....

All of us girls were given the same slippers! I was laying Lilah down for a nap when the other girls opened up theirs, so I didn't know what they had all gotten - after I opened up mine they all put their feet on the coffee table at the same time to show me that they had the same ones!

Christmas Is Coming!!

Can you tell that I am excited about Christmas? ;)  I know that Lilah really doesn't understand what is going on this year, but I am still excited....just having a little one in the house makes it even more fun.  It has been fun shopping for Lilah, I have really had a hard time not buying her a ton of stuff - we have only gotten her few things.  Our house is decorated, the gifts are bought and mostly wrapped - I have to make a few more still though.

Yesterday I dressed Lilah up in two Christmas outfits and took pictures, she was a great sport.

Here we go Mommy!

"I'm getting tired of this headband"

"Aren't I cute?"

"Ooooh what's over there?"

This is the funniest

" Oh Yay! I found my toes under this skirt"

My favorite and the sweetest

Thanks Nana for this dress!
Mom-mom gave Gianna & Lilah their very own Christmas trees, so we decorated Lilah's and put it in her room next to her crib - it's so cute....
